Born in the generation of technology, Jae Imani is a twenty-one year old woman mixed with Spanish and black. Being the second generation born in American, Jae identifies with her Caribbean roots of Spanish and West Indian. Her mother’s family is from Barbados and her father’s family is from Panama. Jae values both the Bajan and Panamanian cultural equally. Growing up, Jae’s family socioeconomic status was the middle class. Jae’s parents worked hard to support her and her little brother. She was raised Christian, but currently does not practice any religious beliefs. However, Jae believes in God, blessings and prayers. Also, Jae is asthmatic which stopped her from dancing or doing any intense cardio. Although asthmatic, Jae does not consider asthma as a disability. Identity Development Jae identifies as a lesbian woman. Initially during her coming out process, Jae felt excited. â€Å"At the age of fourteen, I first told my aunt that I was dating a girl. My aunt approved of my choices and did not judge me. My aunt loved me unconditionally, which made it easier to come out to her.† In Jae’s opinion, the acceptance she found in her aunt will not be the same acceptance from her parents. â€Å"Before, my father thought I was dating a girl when I really was not. Forget Me, Forget Me Not By Hannah Neale Foreword Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is a form of Dementia. Dementia is a depletion of mental ability caused by brain cells dying. However, many factors have been linked to the development of AD, and there is not yet a cure and the main cause is unknown. Most people develop AD over the age of 65. Alois Alzheimer first found AD in Germany during 1901. Although not much attention was paid to the disease at the time, AD is becoming an increasing worry in our society due to the ageing population. Introduction For this Assignment, my intention is to examine a range of current treatments used for AD and to compare their effectiveness in terms of improving the quality of life for the patient. This has a significant effect on pharmacologists in terms of determining the best treatments to help narrow down the most suitable drug for treating AD. Antipsychotics Neuroleptics are the typical antipsychotics used for treating AD and other disorders. Neuroleptics work by blocking dopamine receptors found in the mesolimbic stratal mesocortical systems of the brain. In a controlled study, 59% of patients on neuroleptics and 41% of those taking the placebo saw a decrease in mental distress. This suggests that there was a minor improvement in the patients quality of life, due to treatment with these drugs. What is really interesting is the process of cooking; sooner or later you are going to love it. On top of that, were in love with our microwaves and convenience (convenient) foods. The quicker dinner can be served, the quicker we can get back to more important hings, like stay up all night for the quiz tomorrow, or spending a whole week to prepare for an interview. Sometimes, simplicity and the basics are what work best. As I mentioned above, I will tear through some chips and salsa. But I still stick to cook in person. Pick a few smart vices like dark chocolate, good beer or wine, ice cream, and add some pepper to make things enjoyable throughout my life. How to Communicate Uncertainty When Speaking Japanese Most English speakers are probably not familiar with the subjunctive, as it only appears very rarely there. However, speakers of Spanish or French know it well, because they communicate theoretical ideas with if, might, or maybe by conjugating subjunctive verb forms. While there is no subjunctive mood or verb form in Japanese, there are several ways to express uncertainty.  Related concepts when learning the language include the conditional or potential. Darou, Deshou, and Tabun Darou is a plain form of deshou, and means will probably. The adverb tabun (perhaps) is sometimes added.
